The Problem: I have very little control of the calls I’m getting.
Since I also gave out my home phone and personal cell phone numbers, I would get calls even when I was on vacation! When my business was just starting, I didn’t mind personally attending to customer concerns. However, as my business expanded, call management became too difficult. I couldn’t risk this, as the calls I would get are very important ones. One missed call from a prospective buyer could mean thousands of dollars worth of loss. But I came to the point where the calls were just overwhelming and tiring. Even when I hired new people to attend to calls, I would still get a lot of calls on my personal number. As much as I want to keep my personal time, I couldn’t reject calls. Most of the time, I had no choice but to make sacrifices.
The RingCentral Office Solution: Unique call forwarding and routing rules
RingCentral has unique answering rules that give me more control in managing calls. Before callers can reach my extension or phone number, they are first answered by the auto-attendant. Callers are then prompted to enter the number or extension of the person they want to reach. If I am away from the office and do not want to take calls, I can choose to automatically send all incoming calls to voicemail and attend to them whenever I choose to. This is really easy and simple to do. I just have to log into my RingCentral account online to change the settings.
